Digital signal processing

Learning outcomes After successful completion of the course, student ... 1. is able to utilise A/D converter 2. knows how to sample a continuous signal and describes possible distortions and noise 3. calculates convolution of two discrete signals 4. explains the principles of DFT and carries out relevant calculations 5. determines FIR filter parameters h(k) 6. designs suitable FIR filter for specific task 7. understands the concept of IIR filter Brief description of content The objective of the course is to give an introductory overview of the main topics of Digital Signal Processing. Lectures cover mainly sampling, transforms and digital filters. In laboratory experiments students have the opportunity to observe, explore and manipulate characteristics and behaviors of actual devices, systems, and processes.
